Everton fans set to give it to Man Utd’s Rooney
Everton fans have promised that they will make life unbearable for Wayne Rooney when Manchester United come to town on Saturday.
The 24-year old striker left Goodison Park in 2004 to join United and after recent revelations about his life outside of football, Rooney is expected to be given plenty of stick by the Toffees supporters.
Some Everton supporters still feel betrayed by Rooney’s departure and the news regarding his relationship with prostitute Jenny Thompson is sure to give them further ammo.
However, a spokesperson for the Everton Supporters Club said that although Rooney is not in the good books, the main priority will be to show support for the current Everton team.
“It is well known that Wayne isn’t the most popular player amongst the Everton support, and no doubt there will be those who will want to make their feelings know on Saturday,” the spokesman said.
“But we urge everyone to get behind the team and show support for our current players, not single out a player who left a long time ago.”
