Everton defender Jagielka thrilled after winning start
Everton defender Phil Jagielka was delighted with his start in their win over Hull City.
Jagielka says it was a special moment in his career when he lined up against Hull with fellow long term absentees Mikel Arteta and Victor Anichebe.
"Myself, Mikel and Victor have all been out together for a while so it was nice to see us all start the game," the defender told evertonTV.
"It was also great for Mikel to get his goals and to see Victor play so well."
Jagielka played the full 90 minutes in Sunday's win at Goodison.
After returning from his 10 month injury lay-off against Sporting Lisbon last month, Jags revealed he didn't know he'd made the teamsheet until he arrived for the game.
"It felt strange driving to the ground knowing that I could get some game time at home and I felt a bit nervous.
"Then the gaffer named the team and it was nice to get that buzz back when you are doing the warm up and shaking hands with the players," Jagielka explained. "It is those things I have been looking forward to.
"I thought it was a decent performance against Hull and when the boys play like that in front of you and to the side of you it makes my job a lot easier."
