Everton defender Distin upset for his former Portsmouth fans

Everton defender Sylvain Distin is upset for fans of former club Portsmouth after seeing them enter administration.

Distin spent two years at Fratton Park, winning his first major honour in English football, the FA Cup, in the 2007/08 season.

He told evertonTV: "Whatever the outcome their fans will be there. They are disappointed and frustrated but they are still behind Portsmouth and supporting the players.

"They just want some answers from the board," said Distin. "The club has been through a tough time for the last season and the fans have been there all the way through.

"It is difficult for me to judge because I don't really know what happened but I think the first sign was when Harry Redknapp left and nobody expected it. Some players even arrived for the game and didn't know he had left.

"It is not fair for the fans and it would have been nice if people could have been clearer about the situation there for them."
