Everton boss Moyes: Saha getting back to best

Everton boss David Moyes is delighted Louis Saha has signed his new contract.

Saha was known to be growing concerned at the deadlock over a contract that was due to expire this summer but has been backed to recapture his early-season form.

Moyes said: "Louis is real quality, and on his day there will be many centre backs saying he’s as difficult a centre forward to play against as there is — and those days are becoming more and more frequent.

"When he came here, the first thing we had to see was if he was over his fitness problems. That’s why he signed for a year with the option of another. His fitness is just about there now, which is why we’ve given him another two years.

"Everton suited Louis too, and there is every reason for believing he will get plenty more goals for us. We have managed to get him on the field, get him playing and he knows he’s well liked and respected here. He’s doing great for us."
