Estudiantes star Boselli reveals Birmingham interest

Estudiantes striker Mauro Boselli is a £11 million target for Birmingham City.

The Mirror says the 24-year-old Argentine was the top scorer at the Copa Libertadores, shooting his club to the title.

The fee to take Boselli to St Andrews is set to shatter the Blues' club record, beating the £9million they paid for another of their strikers, Cristian Benitez.

It also means Alex McLeish could now end his pursuit of Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, after having an £8million for the Russian turned down.

Boselli told the Mirror's Football Spy: "I almost have everything ready to Birmingham. The only less thing is a little money difference between Birmingham offer and what Estudiantes and Boca want.

"I want to go to England and play for Birmingham. I love English football and I thing Premiership is the best league in the world.

"My contract with Birmingham is almost ready. There are some little details left, that's all. I hope everything finishes well to suit me and Birmingham."
