Rio's youth career began with Milwall before moving on to QPR. After a stint at QPR rio was transferred to West Ham United where he was then elevated to the first-team in 1995. Whilst at West Ham United he was loaned out to Bournemouth. Rio then made the move to Leeds where he spent 2 years before transferring to Manchester United where he has won 4 Premier League titles, 2 Football League cup's, 3 community shields, 1 Uefa Champions League and 1 fifa club world cup.
