Elmohamady cites Sunderland boss as main reason for loan move
Ahmed Elmohamady has revealed that Sunderland boss Steve Bruce was one of the main factors in his Stadium of Light switch.
The Egyptian star has moved to Wearside on a season-long loan deal and made his league debut against Birmingham City.
"Steve Bruce is one of the main reasons I came here," the 22 year old told the club's official website.
"He is an excellent manager who takes care of the players and always tries to do good things with them.
"I want to show him my efforts on the field and repay him too."
Although Sunderland's Premier League opener ultimately proved a disappointing result, after being pegged back to two apiece, Elmohamady relished the Stadium of Light atmosphere.
"The fans were great. I have never played in such an atmosphere before," he continued. "I want to give my best to make all the fans even happier.
"I have been made to feel very appreciated. People have been taking care of me and I want to repay them on the field."
