West Bromwich Albion boss Robert Di Matteo has urged Baggies fans to remain calm following the superb win over Arsenal at Emirates Stadium last week.

West Brom produced a brilliant performance to go sixth on the Premier League table but the Italian tactician has called on supporters to be wary that every game in England’s top flight is extremely difficult.

"I hope the fans don't get carried away by the Arsenal result,” he told the club’s official website.

"I hope they understand our position and see that Bolton is a difficult game. It's one of the teams that is a competitor, even though they've been in the Premier League for many years.

"If we want to have a good season we need to be competitive against teams like them."

Di Matteo insisted that this weekend’s visit of Bolton is a tough fixture to gauge now that manager Owen Coyle has altered the style of play the Trotters use.

"The way Bolton play is a bit of a mix," he added.

"They can go very direct, as they have been for many years. They're trying to mix it up and I think Owen Coyle has said that.

"It will take time for the club to match his philosophy - as happens when you go to a club who are used to something different."
