Di Canio: Fantastic to be Celtic manager

Paolo Di Canio wants to return to Celtic as new manager.

The Italian - who returns to Glasgow for Sunday's Tommy Burns tribute match - insisted to the Scottish Sun: "It would be FANTASTIC for me to become Celtic manager.

"I would come back to Glasgow to lead the club. It would be a dream come true for me.

"I know Celtic are looking for a manager. Maybe it won't be for me now, but you never know what could happen. I have my coaching badges and I'm qualified to be a manager anywhere I wish. There are clubs in Italy who want to offer me positions, but not in Serie A, at a lower level.

"But I want my first coaching job to be at a higher level - and Celtic would be fantastic.

"It is a club that will always be close to my heart.

"I left in 1997, but Celtic has stayed with me. If I ever get the chance to be Celtic manager, I know I would do well.

"I was very emotional and passionate as a player - but I know I would have to be calmer as a manager. Who knows? Sometimes dreams can come true."
