Departing Valencia star Villa: Barcelona best club to move to

Departing Valencia striker David Villa is excited about his move to Barcelona.

Villa's £34 million switch from Valencia was confirmed yesterday by both clubs.

"For a long time Barcelona have shown they want to sign me," said Villa. "Many messages were given to me directly and indirectly. From outside, I think it is the best club I could go to.

"If I had to leave Valencia, Barcelona is the club which was best for me to go to. I think in the past week I have shown my full commitment to Valencia and I believe the president (Manuel Llorente) acknowledges this."

Villa is expected to be unveiled as Barca's latest signing tomorrow.
