De Rossi only thinking of Roma future

Daniele de Rossi says he's happy at AS Roma.

The midfield ace is inside the final two years of his current Roma deal.

“This isn’t a subject that the club or myself have publicly spoken about,” he told the Corriere dello Sport. “I don’t like talking about these things on television or in the papers.

“My contract renewal is not a problem given that my President, who looks after these matters, has refused all offers for my services from other clubs.

“I will renew my contract when the other one expires – that seems only logical.”

Roma, however, are unlikely to run the risk of waiting until De Rossi is a Bosman candidate to offer him new terms and talks have already begun.

“President Rosella Sensi contacted me towards the end of last season when nobody was discussing my contract,” he added.

“She phoned me, we made an appointment to see each other and we spoke about it for an hour or so.

“Nobody ever knew about it.”
