Daal happy playing any role for North Queensland Fury
North Queensland Fury match-winner Dyron Daal says he is happy playing any role for the club.
The Netherlands Antilles international came on with just over 20 minutes remaining to score the winner against Sydney FC on Saturday night but insists he doesn’t necessarily expect to be starting if the coach wants to deploy him in a different role.
“If he picks me to start I'll do my job, if he wants me to start on the bench I'll do my job," Daal told the Courier-Mail.
"If he needs me, he can call on me. That's just the way I am.
"I ended up having a great season last year so I don't know why I can't have another great season."
Daal added that it was premature of media sceptics to write the team off for off-field reasons but said the Fury would not relax after a strong start to the season.
“It's never nice to hear people writing you off without seeing you," Daal added.
"I've got the feeling they're writing us off because of all the problems we've had off the field and they're not looking at the players we've got now.
"But we can't get ahead of ourselves. Getting a home win against Sydney, that's a big one, but it's back to normal on Monday and then a big game in Melbourne next Sunday against the Victory."
