CSKA Moscow No1 Akinfeev, Lindegaard remain on Man Utd shopping list

CSKA Moscow No1 Igor Akinfeev remains a target for Manchester United.

The Daily Star says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a long-term admirer of Danish goalkeeping star Anders Lindegaard. Ferguson reckons he can be the long-term successor to Edwin van der Sar and has been keeping close tabs on the 26-year-old for six months.

United goalkeeping coach Eric Steele jetted to Norway last weekend to watch £6m-rated Lindegaard in action for Aalesunds.

Other targets include Russian No.1 Akinfeev, but Ferguson might be put off by CSKA Moscow’s expected £10m asking price.
