Cox will bide his time for West Brom action

West Brom summer signing Simon Cox has pledged to wait for a chance in the first team.

The £1.5million marksman pressed his claims for a Championship chance with a goalscoring display in the reserves’ 2-2 draw at Port Vale on Monday night.

But Cox insists he will wait patiently for his opportunity, despite admitting his frustration at a lack of first team action.

He told the : "I don’t like not playing, but when you step up that extra level with a bigger squad and better players you are always going to have to wait your turn, so I am happy to do so.

"The manager picks the team every week, he sees what people in front of me are doing and what I do every day in training. If he thinks that the people in front of me are the best people for the job he will pick them.

"I’m not going to bang on his door every time I don’t play because I am not happy. He should know I am not happy.

"Can I make a difference? If I’m given a chance. If not I am happy to wait my turn. The manager is the one who picks the team and I can’t do anything about that."
