Gregory Coupet is expected to shelve plans to quit Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.
The veteran goalkeeper was preparing to return to France after being forced to play second-fiddle to Leo Franco in coach Abel Resino's plans.
However, with Franco deciding to leave Atletico at the end of the season and Resino also to be shown the door, Coupet has had a rethink and is now prepared to stick it out in Madrid.
Atletico are in talks for Real Valladolid keeper Sergio Asenjo, but the youngster would initially arrive as understudy to the experienced Frenchman.
