West Ham's England U19 international, Jordan Spence, has joined Orient on loan and will remain at Brisbane Road until January 3.

O's boss Martin Ling said: "Jordan has come here to strengthen our centre half position with Brian Saah out with his hamstring injury and the worry over Alton's knee with so many games coming up.

"He will come here and give us breathing space in that department and Jordan will get a first taste of senior experience too.

"The loan will be beneficial for both parties - he will be with us for an eight-game period and then we will assess the situation from there."
