UEFA delays Serbia probe

European football's governing body UEFA will investigate reports of racist chanting and a fight in the player’s tunnel after England's 2-0 win over Serbia in a European Under-21 championships match on Sunday.

England's FA will face questions over the incident involving their players after the match, while Serbia face charges over the behaviour of their players as well as the conduct of their supporters.

A statement from UEFA said: "In regard to alleged racist chanting, UEFA will instigate proceedings against the FSS (Serbian Football Association) over the misconduct of their supporters.

"Proceedings will also be instigated against the FSS for the improper conduct of their players on two occasions: following England's second goal and after the match.

"UEFA will also commence proceedings against the FA for the improper conduct of the England players after the match."

All the cases will be discussed at a meeting of UEFA's control and disciplinary body on July 12.
