But Schuster also warned management that time was ticking on getting a deal done for the Portuguese this summer.

He said: "When it comes to a player like him, of course he is going to make noise, just as I did when I came here last year (laughter).

"I do not believe there's a danger to the dressing room because knowing a little about him, as we are informed, he is not a typical attention seeker. They say he is a team player, he has shown this in Manchester and I believe that with the great stars we have in Madrid, he would be one more.

"I do not think he'd have problems adapting at all."
