Maradona hails Barcelona's Messi as "the last rebel"

Messi has inspired Argentina to the gold medal playoff in Beijing and Maradona said: "Messi is a phenomenon. He plays without looking backwards, always going forward.

"Lionel is the last rebel … he isn't scared of anyone or anything, no matter who is ahead, he is one of my favorites.

"Of course, he deserves to be compared with me."
