Ban extended for Sampdoria striker Flachi
Sampdoria striker Francesco Flachi has reportedly had his doping ban extended to two years.
The striker was initially suspended for 16 months for failing a random drugs test, but that has been upped to 24 months after an appeal by the Italian Olympic Committee.
Flachi, who also lodged an unsuccessful appeal to get his punishment reduced, was found to have traces of cocaine in his system after the 2-0 loss to Inter on January 28.
The Italian was banned as a precautionary measure on February 22 and his two-year stop will run from that date.
