The agent of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso has confirmed Fiorentina's interest.

Viola scouts have been spotted at recent Sporting games and Veloso's agent, Paulo Barbosa, said: "I know that there were some Italian representatives, I can confirm that they were from Fiorentina. I have good reasons to believe that the news is true.

"I can confirm this, but there are no real negotiations.

"Certainly, Florence would be a happy destination for the player."
