Hmmm... Benitez could be good in Spain, he knows who to pay off to get the right results from refs and officials there.... Liverpool always managed to get many "special" calls when Benitez was coach and they played in Europe, but he never had the right connections to get the same 'accomplishments' made in England or in Italy. This is just my opinion, but in Spain it might be a different story, this is Benitez' roots and where he has the right connections in the game to get the 'right results' with the right money in the hands of the right officials and administrators of the league. Just my opinion. That's how football is run nowadays, Chelsea has some officials in England and Manchester United has some (most) officials in England, as we know, but Benitez never managed to get in the mix to buy the England officials and make Liverpool win the EPL. In Spain he knows the right strings and the right phone calls to make and where to drop the money bag.
