It's not a transfer that need ever happen to have the effect of diminishing football in this country. Club owners with more money than sense are very convenient for media to dream up ever more outlandish stories that, however OTT, could be true because Man City these days are known to be daft. Players go there for big money and then, whether they play or don't get games, often wish they could leave except 'where to?' as nobody else can afford their transfer fee or expected pay-rate. I don't think Bale will leave Spurs, never mind even consider going to a club run like City and that is now held in such low regard by football followers in our country.
