Cole will resist Spurs to pen Chelsea deal
The Mirror says Cole made a superb return to Premier League action on Saturday after nine months out, inspiring the Blues’ 5-0 thumping of Blackburn that took Carlo Ancelotti’s men top of the table.
And Cole, whose current Chelsea deal runs out at the end of the season, is now poised to agree terms on a new four-year contract worth £100,000-a-week and keeping him at the club until he is 32.
Cole said: “We’re talking at the moment about the future and we all agree what we want.
“I love it here. The club want me to stay, so there should be no problems. I feel like this is my home.”
Cole’s desire to remain at the Bridge, despite persistent interest from Spurs chief Harry Redknapp, comes after his return gave the Blues a sharper attacking edge.
