Joe Cole is struggling to come to terms with being shown the door by Chelsea and will not finalise his future until after the World Cup, reports the Daily Mirror.

The 28 year old was holding out for over £100,000-a-week to ink a new long-term deal at Chelsea.

And Chelsea eventually got so fed up with negotiations they withdrew an offer to extend Cole's contract on his existing £80,000-a-week salary.

Sources close to Cole reckon the ace has taken the news very badly as he desperately wanted to stay at Chelsea.

Arsenal and Spurs are both keen on signing him, along with Manchester United, Man City and managerless Liverpool.

He has turned down a return to his old club West Ham and a move to the Emirates seems most likely.
