Chicago Fire get rid of Matkovich and Briones
The Chicago Fire announced last week they are parting ways with first assistant Mike Matkovich and fitness coach Alvaro Briones, paving the way for recently retired defender CJ Brown to get into coaching.
The 35-year old admits he would love to get into the coaching side of things and now gets his chance with two spots on the staff roster opening up.
“I want to get a shot in MLS as a coach,” Brown said. “I think I can help guys become better professionals and I feel like I’ve been in the league long enough to know what it takes to win. I think I can help out.”
