Chicago Fire coach Carlos de los Cobos has eased any fears fans may have of the loan signing of Mexican striker Nery Castillo.

The 26-year old has joined the Fire from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk as the Designated Player for the rest of the season with the option of a permanent move.

There are fears that the club may have paid too much for Castillo, who finds himself at this third loan club in three years (scoring just one goal in his past 22 starts), but de los Cobos assures Fire fans that the player is determined to succeed.

"He's really motivated to come here," de los Cobos said.

“He's a strong personality, a strong temper," de los Cobos added. "He comes in with a positive attitude."
