Chelsea striker Scott Sinclair was delighted with his goal in Wigan's defeat to Hull City.

The winger opened his account for Latics on Saturday in the 2-1 defeat at Hull, his 84th-minute introduction from the bench almost changing the game in Wigan's favour.

Sinclair told the Wigan Observer: "It's frustrating for any player to be sitting on the bench, waiting to get on, but you can only keep working hard in training, giving it 100 per cent and be ready to take your chance when it comes.

"I was delighted to get my first goal in the Premier League, and hopefully it can lead to me getting a few more.

"But I'm also disappointed that it wasn't enough to get us a point.

"The lads are very disappointed, and we're all hoping we can do better in the next game."

He added: "I'll be here until the end of the season.

"Hopefully I can try and play every week and after that it'll be up to the gaffer."
