Chelsea keeper Turnbull delighted with Champions League performance

Chelsea goalkeeper Ross Turnbull was pleased with his performance in their Champions League defeat to Inter Milan.

Turnbull went into the game under huge pressure, but turned in an assured display.

The youngster told chelseafc.com: 'I was pleased with my performance, that's a positive but I'd much rather us be in the last eight.

"We set out to win the game and go through but it wasn't to be, we didn't perform on the night. We have two other competitions we can still win though, and winning them has to be our aim.

"I read some of the stuff in the newspapers before the game, which was disappointing, but everyone inside the club showed they had faith in me, friends and colleagues, which is what counts to me," he explains. "That's what the press do and you just have to accept it really.

"I'm a confident person, so that was no problem. I was just glad to be playing. I want to be playing, to show people what I can do and make sure they don't forget about me when I've not had too many opportunities to play. When you get one you have to show what you can do.

"I was thinking positively and looking forward to playing, I don't know how many I will play so I have to enjoy it while I'm in."

He is a good stoper i hope chelsea will give him chance to play more games even if our first stoper is back.

this comes out from an inter fan,i should say that turnbull played better than hilario, ancelotti should make turnbull 2nd choice goalie for chelsea. hilario makes silly mistakes.
