Nicolas Anelka could be offered a new deal by Chelsea.

The Times says new Blues chief Ron Gourlay is in talks with Salomon Kalou about a new contract, but it will not be the last as Chelsea seek to ward off potential predators.

Joe Cole has also been offered a new four-year deal, while Chelsea may reconsider their previous refusal to open talks with Nicolas Anelka.

The France striker has 18 months remaining on his contract, but his form has been so impressive this season that the club may not want to risk losing him.
