Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta will see Champions League action against Apoel of Cyprus on Wednesday.

Kakuta, who missed the penalty that sent Chelsea out of the Carling Cup, is to be given a chance to bounce straight back. The French kid, 18, saw his spot-kick saved by Paul Robinson in a quarter-final shoot-out at Blackburn.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti said: “He will have an opportunity. The game at Blackburn was an experience for him. Yes, he missed but he will bounce back.”

Ancelotti’s men are through and he said: “We will use the same methods against Apoel as at Blackburn.”
