Chelsea boss Ancelotti insists: Terry remains my captain
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti says John Terry remains his club captain after the defender's winner against Burnley last night.
Terry returned to work at Turf Moor after allegations of an affair with an ex-girlfriend of former team-mate Wayne Bridge were made public - and headed an 83rd-minute winner against Burnley.
Steven Fletcher had pulled the home side level after Nicolas Anelka opened the scoring for the Blues.
Ancelotti said: "There is no discussion about this (the Chelsea captaincy). I don't know why you ask me this. The players will never lose their trust in him.
"It was a good moment for Terry on the pitch. But he also played well against Birmingham in midweek.
"I did not speak with him. It wasn't necessary because he did well in training yesterday. It was not in my mind he wouldn't play.
"I do not want to talk about his personal life. He is doing his job very well, every day, every training session. For this (reason) I am not worried."
Ancelotti, however, refused to discuss whether Terry should remain skipper of the national team.
"I am manager of Chelsea and that is my focus, not England " he said.
Ancelotti insists that Terry is helping improve the club's profile, not tarnishing it.
He said: "The professionalism of John Terry improves the image of the club. I am a manager and only want to speak about his work. He is a fantastic professional.
"All the club, the players, management and staff are supporting him and his family at this time."

PS... Talk about building BRIDGES eh?
Sack Terry as England Skipper? YOU MUST BE JOKING!!
He has a better record as skipper than nearly ALL the England Captains since we won the world cup in 1966.
Yet again I am amazed that the ENGLISH GUTTER PRESS are trying to blow up England's World Cup with unproven allegations about JT.
We know there is a large, Jealous anti Chelsea brigade just willing to bring anybody associated with the club, down.
Now I ask you. Was David Beckham sacked as England Captain after allegations of his affair with Rebecca Loos? NO. Was Sven Goran Ericson sacked after admitting that he cheated with several women behind his wife Nancy's back? NO.
The English press make me sick. They are not damaging Chelsea or JT here. They are damaging England.
Some would prefer to have a Manx based drugs cheat as captain, the scousers have always wanted Gerrard to be captain, yet he hardly puts in a good performance for his country, let alone could Captain them. And look at his record for Liverpool, especially this season. He suddenly gets injured and they start picking up points! Amazing.
If JT is sacked as England skipper. Kiss the World Cup goodbye.... Blame Shyte papers such as the News of the World and the Mail / Mail on Sunday. JT may have done wrong in his private life but that is his private life, full stop. I am sorry for Bridgie but such is life mate. You are better off without her.
How do the papers know about these allegations, whether they be true or false, they are doing what they ALWAYS do before a major tournament, and that is to unstablize the England team.
IF you do sack JT Capello, you are making one hell of a big mistake and I hope JT sues the pants off you as it is totally unfair compared with the antics of previous Captains and Managers which all seems to have been conveniently forgotten.
Terry is the best Captain for the Job and he has proved it time and time again on the pitch. Chelsea have stood behind their skipper and I suggest England fans ignore the gutter press and if you want to win the World Cup, you stand behind your skipper too.
Terry used to party in nightclubs as a young player before his big break in 2003-2004. This is a problem. England are a bunch of spoiled pampered players and full of nigs who should die in african civil war
