Chelsea boss Ancelotti freezes out contract rebel Borini

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has frozen out contract rebel Fabio Borini.

The Daily Mail says Borini has been frozen out by manager Ancelotti since rejecting a contract offer in the summer.

Ancelotti has made a point of involving young players such as Josh McEachran and Gael Kakuta in the first team this season but 19-year-old Borini has spent the campaign training with the reserves.

A year ago, the Chelsea manager named Borini as the youngster most likely to break through, but his chances have faded, despite scoring five goals in one game for the reserves last month.

Borini, signed from Bologna three years ago, does not want to leave but his contract expires in June and he has been stunned by the club’s hardline negotiating.

Ciro Ferrara, Italy’s Under 21 coach, told Borini he remains in his plans even though he has not played for Chelsea’s first team since a two-minute appearance in the FA Cup in February.
