Chelsea ace Drogba insists he can handle heavy schedule
Chelsea ace Didier Drogba insists he can handle his heavy schedule for club and country.
The Ivory Coast captain will be away from Stamford Bridge this month for the African Nations Cup.
And 18-goal Drogba admits it is a wrench to leave Chelsea. He said: "I suffer because I am one of those footballers who is always looking to give 100 per cent for my team.
"But the club understands we can't help it if FIFA and the Confederation of African Football don't change dates.
"As it is, Chelsea head the table and the squad needs my help and I will be with ]them living every minute of each and every match.
"I have faith in my team-mates and their ability to keep up our level of play. It's not the first time we've all headed off to the African Nations and in the past Chelsea have always done fine in our absence."
