Chelsea’s Ancelotti: We did not perform how we wanted to
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti says Inter Milan did not allow his team to play the way they wanted to in last night’s 1-0 (3-1 on aggregate) Champions League loss.
The Blues could not make any leeway into the 2-1 deficit they encountered ahead of the return leg and the scoreline only got worse with just over ten minutes remaining when Samuel Eto’o scored for Inter and Ancelotti admitted his side did not do what they wanted due to the opposition’s pressure.
“I think we didn't play how we wanted to," he said. "Inter put some pressure on our midfield and we had a lot of difficulty playing.
"Inter played a very good game, strong in defence, good on the counter-attack, and we didn't play how we wanted.
"I think we played better in the first game and now were not able to repeat the same play, so Inter deserve to win. Congratulations to Inter,” he told Sky Sports.
