Central Coast Mariners to stage home games in Canberra
Central Coast Mariners will hold home games in the nation’s capital this season.
Canberra will play host to two A-League games, in rounds 5 and 13 of the 2009/10 competition.
Friday September 4 will see Perth Glory travel to take on the Mariners in the first ever A-League match at Canberra Stadium and on Saturday October 31, Adelaide United will come to town.
“We must firstly recognise the vision and foresight of Football Federation Australia, the ACT Government and Capital Football, for seizing this unique opportunity to host these two Hyundai A-League games,” said Mariners executive chairman Lyall Gorman.
“It also gives the A-League for Canberra bid supporters the perfect chance to get behind the game, and further strengthen our support of a truly national competition, with the imminent announcement of the Hyundai A-League’s successful 12th franchise.”

Thats bullshit, BMembership rises and with the lack of games in the season what do members get out of this? Mariners have the scabiest member packs handed to members as well.
and even if they do get a bit more money out of it its not like thay have bought a marquee or big star to the team for this season.
Mariners are going backwards fast and wont be to far off the spoon this year!
