Celtic ponder swoop for ex-Rangers striker

Celtic boss Tony Mowbray is considering an audacious bid for ex-Rangers ace Ross McCormack, reports the Scottish Sun.

Hoops chiefs have contacted Cardiff but any move could hinge on them getting rid of top scorer Scott McDonald.

Mowbray has the 23-year-old at the top of his wanted list but Celts won't meet Cardiff's £5m valuation of him.

McCormack only signed a new four-year deal with the Championship club last summer.
