Carragher sees no problems in attracting players to Liverpool despite lack of CL football

Jamie Carragher hopes top players will still want to join Liverpool even if they do not qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

"It will be a blow if we don't make the top four but we haven't always been there. People forget that," he said in the Daily Star.

"We've come back and we'll do it again."

One concern for Carragher is that Liverpool might find it harder to bring in the calibre of player they are looking for without the lure of Champions League football.

"Of course it makes it harder to attract top players when you're not in the Champions League," he said.

"But the name of Liverpool attracts players on its own. It's a massive club with a great history and hopefully a great future.

"Finishing in the top four attracts players, but I think playing for Liverpool is the main attraction."
