Carr hopes to play out career with Birmingham

Stephen Carr has declared he'd like to play out his career with Birmingham City.

The 33-year-old has been a virtual ever-present and, while not official club captain, he has regularly worn the skipper’s armband due to Lee Carsley being out of favour.

“There’s no reason why I couldn’t see myself finishing my playing days at Birmingham,” Carr told the Sunday Mercury. “I’ve got a year left after this and I’m really enjoying it.

‘‘Especially under this manager. He has been brilliant for me and, touch wood, I’ve got a good few years left in me.

“My family have settled brilliantly. I was a bit worried with them coming over from Ireland but they love it, it’s as if they have lived here for a good few years."
