Burton Albion have signed Birmingham goalkeeper Artur Krysiak on a one-month loan.

Krysiak has yet to make a first-team appearance for Birmingham, but had spells on loan at Swansea and Motherwell last season.

He was initially released by Blues boss Alex McLeish at the end of the last campaign only to be offered a new one-year contract later in the summer.

The Polish shot-stopper now heads to Football League new-boys Burton to provide added depth in Paul Peschisolido's squad.

With regular No 1 Kevin Poole working his way back to full fitness, Brewers boss Peschisolido was keen to ensure he had cover for Shane Redmond.

Peschisolido told the club's official website: "Kevin has had some injury problems over the summer and I wanted to bring in some cover."
