Brown urges Portsmouth to be brace against Chelsea

Michael Brown insists Portsmouth can upset Chelsea in tomorrow's FA Cup final - if they're brave.

Brown accepts that, after all the turmoil that has gripped Pompey this season, they probably have no right to be at Wembley at all.

“But this is truly the magic of the FA Cup and, although the odds are stacked against us, that is fine by me,” said midfielder Brown.

“We have already had one great day out there when we beat Tottenham in the semi-final and now we want to do it again.”

At 33, Brown has been around the block a few times, but this will be his first FA Cup final appearance.

“When you get to my age and you have never been to a final, you think time is running out and you might never experience it. So it means a hell of a lot to me to get there,” he said.

“Chelsea are a fantastic team and we have got to try to limit them. But we have to be brave, not just try to soak up pressure.

“We will have a gameplan and of course we might have to ride our luck a bit. But if we can limit their opportunities, I’m sure we will carve out a couple of chances during the game.”
