Brown hopes Grant stays with Portsmouth

Michael Brown hopes Avram Grant stays on as Portsmouth manager.

While Brown realises that the uncertainty over the ownership could take the decision out of Grant's hands, the 33-year-old is optimistic the club will be able to hang on to their manager – despite interest in him from several other clubs.

Brown told The News: "He's obviously a good manager.

"He's done a great job under difficult circumstances and I'm sure the administrator is trying to get him to stay. As players, all we can do is concentrate on what we do and hopefully he is here next season.

"He's quite reserved and very relaxed in the dressing room.

"He's very knowledgeable but he's laid-back and keeps his emotions in check most of the time."
