Brosque eyeing triple treat with Sydney FC
The reigning A-League champions are currently stuck to the bottom of the table after Week 7 and will need a string of good results to get them out of trouble following the bye on the weekend.
Beginning this Sunday, the Sky Blues play three home games in a week and Brosque is planning on returning to the fray after an ankle injury to help the club get their season back on track.
''I've done a solid two weeks where I've been getting hammered on fitness by Craig [Duncan, club head of Human Performance], and I certainly feel well enough to start full training with the boys,'' Brosque told the Herald.
''I'm just hoping to get through this week as planned, and we'll see how I pull up then, but as of now I'm very confident I'll be right to play in all three matches.
“There was some hope that I'd be ready for the Wellington game (last week) but with the bye coming this week we decided that another week off would offer a bit more time to heal. It's a bit longer than what we wanted though I'm pretty certain it's all over now.''
Brosque added that skipper Terry McFlynn was set to also return from a hamstring injury but was unsure about marquee man Nick Carle who has a foot problem.
''Terry looks good. For the past few weeks he's been training alongside me, and he had the same time frame as I did, and he looks to be on track,'' Brosque aded. ''Nicky didn't train with the squad last week to give his toe a proper chance to heal. I'm not too sure where he is at but we should get more of an indication on him in the next few days.''
