Broich having immediate impact – Brisbane Roar’s Postecoglou

Brisbane Roar coach Ange Postecoglou believes German midfielder Thomas Broich has had an immediate impact on the A-League so far.

The former FC Cologne and Borussia Monchengladbach man has starred as the Roar have climbed to second on the table and Postecoglou has heaped praise on the impact he has had so far.

“He's getting better and you look at all the imports and very few of them make an impact straight away," he said.

"It's a tough league and I think he's one of the best in adjusting really quickly."

Broich was instrumental in helping the Roar power past Melbourne Heart 4-0 on Saturday evening but Postecoglou decided to bring him off just before the hour-mark.

"He wasn't happy with me and he still isn't happy with me," Postecoglou added.

"He said 'man down, three goals up, it's a fun time', but I just saw a smile beginning to creep into his face and I thought I'd take him off and keep him angry.

"We're going to need him for more important times, I think."
