Bridge ready to return for Sydney FC
Mark Bridge should be right to take the field for Sydney FC this weekend according to teammate Alex Brosque.
The reigning champions were without both Bridge and striker partner Brosque for their 1-0 loss to Brisbane Roar on Saturday night so the timing could not be better as they head into this weekend’s home clash with Central Coast Mariners.
The Sky Blues were often toothless in attack against the Roar but Brosque says that will change on Saturday as his attacking mate is ready to go following a hamstring injury.
''Bridgey will be keen to get back out there and I think Kofi (Danning) will be better for having a run last week, so there's no reason they can't start together and hopefully they can cause a few problems,” Brosque said.
He also admitted that he would not be back until the round 5 clash with Adelaide United because of ankle ligament damage.
''It wasn't until Monday that I got the scan results back and the results showed there was very little chance that I was going to be ready in time for this match,'' he added. ''I've had a little tear in the ligament, so it's not worth making it any worse and hopefully it gets better and I can be back for the next game.”
