Brescia buzzing over deal for West Ham attacker Diamanti

Brescia have completed the signing of West Ham United attacker Alessandro Diamanti.

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder will be presented to the media later today.

“With Diamanti, we have a Brescia side that can qualify for the Europa League,” declared President Gino Corioni.

“In the centenary year of this club, I would like to experience again those wonderful days of Baggio.

“Today, Diamanti is the player in circulation who most reminds me of Baggio. It’s in the way he moves and his qualities.”

The former Livorno man returns to Serie A on a five-year contract after his spell at West Ham.

“We can also enjoy having Eder with us. In Serie B last season there were three super strikers: Andrea Caracciolo, Eder and Rolando Bianchi. Now we have two out of three.

“Eder has pace and reminds me of Dario Hubner. With players like this, the fans are allowed to dream of more than mere safety.

“Having said that, I’d like to remind everyone that nobody is untouchable, including Caracciolo.”
