Bolton owner splashed the cash in transfer window

Bolton owner Eddie Davies is fully committed to the Wanderers cause, according to chairman Phil Gartside.

Despite the club being more than £50million in debt, Gartside revealed that the Little Lever-born businessman, who has a 94.5 per cent stake in the club, still made funds available for boss Gary Megson in the January transfer window.

"He’s still happy," Gartside told the Bolton News. "Eddie has shown his further commitment this year because he was prepared to release funds for the January window and that was important to us.

"The other side is that we actually showed that we made a profit in the window and to see that probably gives Eddie a bit more comfort to see that we are actually running it on a business base."
