Blackpool fullback Eardley welcomes Monday night football

Blackpool defender Neil Eardley says the players are delighted to have a Monday night game against West Bromwich Albion.

Blackpool defender Neil Eardley says the players are delighted to have a Monday night game against West Bromwich Albion.

The Welshman and the rest of the squad were given three days off during the week and Eardley says he is reaping the benefits.

"It's been nice to have a few days rest under our belts and get nice and fresh, but now we're back in, we'll train today, tomorrow and Sunday and get ready for Monday.

"We were all a bit flat after the Birmingham game, it was one of them games where things just didn't go our way so the break has done us the world of good," Eardley told the club's website.

The full-back featured in the 3-2 defeat at the Hawthorns last March and is hoping for a different result this time around.

"I felt as if we were hard done by both times last season, a few of their goals were penalties but it's different now, we've got new faces and so have they so it'll be a different game and we're looking forward to it," he added.
