Blackburn Rovers are determined to keep hold of manager Sam Allardyce.

The Mirror says Blackburn will resist any approach from Dubai side Al Ahli for Allardyce.

Rovers say they have had no official approach from Al Ahli, who are understood to have Allardyce and Mark Hughes on their shortlist to become their new boss.

The Middle East club are prepared to hand Big Sam the richest contract of his career to quit Blackburn for Dubai and have already lured Italy's 2006 World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro to join them.

Rovers believe they can hang on to Allardyce and hope he will want to continue the great work he has done during his 18 months at Ewood Park.
