Blackburn Rovers have given up on trying to tempt Bolton striker Kevin Davies into a move.
Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has been keen to reunite with the player he signed when in charge at Bolton as he actively seeks replacement for departed striker Roque Santa Cruz.
The Trotters have labelled Davies ‘off limits’, prompting Allardyce to cease his actions on the matter.
"(Bolton chairman) John (Williams) told me on Thursday that Kevin Davies is not available," said Allardyce.
"As far as I'm concerned that is it.”

one of the best strikers in the Premier League...very talented and has a good work ethic...i am not surprised that Big Sam is interested in him...but too bad Bolton is not selling...
